Etched set Eduard 1:35 Schwimmwagen for refining the amphibious-vehicle kit. It is not a model, but a set of fine metal parts designed for the Tamiya kit in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched detailing set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, designed for the plastic kit of the German amphibious vehicle Volkswagen Schwimmwagen in 1:35 scale by Tamiya. This is not a vehicle model, but a package of thin metal parts that replace and supplement plastic elements, adding fine detail to the finished build. The etched parts refine, for example, the dashboard, small fittings, handles and other exterior elements.
The Volkswagen Type 166 Schwimmwagen was a German Second World War amphibious off-road vehicle derived from the design of the Kübelwagen. It had all-wheel drive, and on water it was propelled by a fold-down propeller at the rear. It was used mainly for reconnaissance and liaison in difficult terrain.
The etched parts are separated with a sharp knife on a hard surface and glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Fine metal handles and grilles look more realistic than the thicker plastic parts. Straight bends are more accurate with a photo-etch bending tool, and small elements are best held with tweezers.
This is an accessory set, not a model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
