A replacement hull of the American Sherman M4A3 medium tank with HVSS suspension, complemented by a frame with bags filled with sand. The improvised protection is modeled right on the part, so stacking the bags piece by piece falls away. A kit of the tank is not in the package.
The M4A3 with horizontal HVSS suspension was a late form of the Sherman. Wider tracks improved its going over soft terrain and the gasoline eight-cylinder engine counted as the most successful power unit of the whole series. The crews hung on the front and the sides whatever was at hand: sandbags, logs, spare track links. Against Panzerfausts it worked less well than the soldiers wished, but the habit held on to the end of the fighting in Europe.
Sacking is painted warm, into ocher and gray-beige, and every bag will take a slightly different shade, because a uniform surface looks false. Leave the frame in the shade of the tank and pick out wear down to the metal on it. The contrast between the coarse fabric and the smooth armor is supported by fine dust in the places where the bags touch the hull. Before you seat the part for good, try dry how the gun and the driver's hatches fit to it.
