This set is not a model or a figure but a diorama accessory: a group of resin castings depicting folded, draped and set-aside items of period army clothing and equipment of the Soviet army of the Second World War. The castings are placed on a vehicle model, in a diorama or around figures and give a scene the impression that someone really lives in it. They are made by Black Dog, a Czech firm long focused on exactly these resin accessories for military models.
A cleanly built tank looks like a display exhibit, not like a machine in the field. The crew personal belongings, coats draped over the fenders, clothing drying on the hull or equipment set down beside the vehicle are the quickest way to rid a model of that impression. The Soviet version suits Eastern Front equipment and figures in matching kit in particular, but it will also serve as general fitting out for a rear area scene.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent so that the mold release residue disappears, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutter and sand the surface wet; with resin, always protect your breathing. It is bonded with super glue, because ordinary plastic cement does not work on resin. When painting, start with a base coat, then lay on the base tone of the fabric and bring the folds out with a dark wash and a dry brush along the edges. Textiles look credible when they have a matte surface and a slightly uneven shade, not a uniform area. Try the arrangement on the model dry, because small items of this kind easily fill more room than you expect.
