These Star Decals markings in 1:35 scale are focused on Soviet wheeled armored vehicles of the Afghan deployment. The name gives the BTR-80 and BRDM-2 types by name. The set brings decals for a finished model, not plastic parts.
The BTR-80 replaced the older eight-wheeled carriers with one powerful diesel engine in place of a pair of gasoline engines and received altered side entrances, which make it possible to step out in the shelter of the armor. The BRDM-2 is a smaller and lighter reconnaissance car beside it, with four main wheels and a pair of lowerable belly wheels for crossing trenches, and with a turret of the same type as on the carriers. Both vehicles belonged to the equipment that provided escort, reconnaissance and liaison between the garrisons on the Afghan supply routes.
The set aims at more than one type of hull, so before you reach for the first decal, note down which markings belong to which vehicle. They are easy to mix up and a decal cannot be taken off again. Level the areas around the firing ports and the hatches with a gloss varnish, seat the markings and matte the surface down. Build up the dust and mud on the wheels and the fenders only at the end.
