Subject and workmanship

The subject is a Soviet military cameraman from the years 1943 to 1945, that is a non-combat role focused on film documentation. The figure holds a film camera and is conceived so that it plainly conveys what it is doing in a scene. The uniform as well as the carried kit match the period stated and are modeled with fine folds, legible seams and small details on the bags. Building and painting tips

First wash the casting in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the release agent from the mold is removed. Cut the casting block off with a saw or a cutting disc and do not break it away. Glue the divided parts with cyanoacrylate super glue. Sand wet and with respiratory protection. After applying a thin primer, paint with acrylics and finish the face and the hands off with oil paints for soft transitions. Pick the camera and the leather parts of the kit out with a dark wash and a careful dry brush on the edges; the contrast between the matte cloth and the slightly glossy leather will bring the figure to life markedly.
