This photo-etched detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard refines a plastic model of the Soviet T-70B light tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a standalone vehicle model but an accessory that replaces simplified plastic elements with fine metal parts. Photo-etch can render thin sheets, grilles and other details faithfully, which injection-molded plastic cannot manage.
The T-70 was a Soviet light tank of the Second World War, used mainly in 1942 and 1943. The T-70B version (also known as the T-70M) had a strengthened running gear and changes to the structure. It served for reconnaissance and for direct infantry support, and in production it was later replaced by self-propelled guns derived from its chassis.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and make the bends over a metal ruler. Super glue (cyanoacrylate) suits the gluing of small elements. Before fitting the grilles and the fenders, think about the order of assembly, so that the details stay accessible for weathering with washes and pigments later.
The set contains photo-etched parts only. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
