A Black Dog set meant for finishing a model of the German StuG III assault gun in the Ausf.G version in 1:35 scale. The words big set in the name suggest a wider scope than the basic accessory sets of the same maker usually have. It is an accessory for hardware in 1:35, so the scale and the type of item agree.
The StuG III arose as a tracked assault gun on the chassis of the medium Panzer III tank. Instead of a rotating turret it carried a low armored casemate with the gun mounted in the front, which gave it a strikingly low silhouette and made it easier to produce. The Ausf.G version was built from the end of 1942 and became the most numerous version of the whole line; later production runs saw a cast gun mantlet and side skirt armor plates appear. In service it served at first to support infantry and later more and more often as an anti-tank weapon.
Before you glue anything, lay the parts out dry and think through the order; accessories are fitted at the moment when the basic build is finished and the surface is prepared. Clear the mating surfaces of dust and grease. With small items cyanoacrylate glue applied with the tip of a wire works well. Spray the accessories separately from the vehicle and join them only once they have dried, otherwise you will reach the recesses badly.
The assault gun itself is not in the box and is bought separately.
