This item is a resin accessory to a model, not a complete kit. It relates to the German StuG IV assault gun modified for carrying ammunition, in the form documented at the end of the war in Berlin, and it is in 1:35 scale. It completes the base plastic kit with parts that change the character of the vehicle. The maker PANZER ART is a Polish brand specializing in cast accessories for armored vehicles. Improvised conversions belong among its typical subjects, because they practically never appear in production kits.
The StuG IV was a German assault gun with a low casemate superstructure on the Panzer IV chassis, built in the last phase of the war. At the end of the fighting, vehicles appeared in which the original armament and interior fittings gave way to empty space and which served to carry ammunition and supplies. Such modifications were made by units or in repair shops and differed from one example to the next. That is exactly what makes them attractive for a modeler: the result does not look like an ordinary production machine and in a diorama it tells a story by itself.
Wash the castings in warm water with dish soap because of release agent residue, cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and sand the surfaces with your airways protected. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Level the gaps between the resin parts and the plastic with filler, although on improvised modifications the transitions need not be perfectly smooth, as slight irregularity reads as convincing. On painting: a primer, then a camouflage finish according to the scheme chosen, a strong wash in all the gaps, scuffed and chipped paint on the edges and marked dust and mud effects on the bottom of the vehicle.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
