Figures of members of the Sudetendeutsches Freikorps of 1938 in 1:35 scale. They match models of ground vehicles in the most widespread diorama scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sudetendeutsches Freikorps came about in September 1938 as a paramilitary force put together from Sudeten Germans. Its detachments moved about the Czechoslovak border region in the weeks when the crisis over the cession of the border territories was coming to a head, and after the Munich Agreement their activity was ended. The autumn of 1938 is meanwhile a considerably rarer subject in modeling than the later war years.
The 1:35 scale is the most widespread format for figures to go with models of ground vehicles. A figure around 175 cm tall in reality comes out in it at roughly 5 cm. That is a size at which the face and the folds of the clothing can be worked out decently, and at the same time the figure is easy to set into a scene with a vehicle or a piece of terrain.
Cut off the excess material with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the shape is not disturbed. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts, otherwise the paint may not hold.
The figures suit builders of dioramas from 1938 as well as modelers who want to add scale and a human dimension to a scene beside a finished vehicle. Paints, glue, a base and scene accessories are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
