This set from the Slovak brand Armour Models depicts whole rounds for the gun of the Soviet T-34 tank, that is the case together with the projectile. It differs from the accessory with spent cases precisely in that the ammunition has not been fired and is ready for use. The name gives sixteen pieces.
Ammunition ready to hand belongs with scenes of replenishing supplies, with an open stowage compartment or with a crate standing beside a machine. A crew loading rounds into the turret is one of the most common diorama subjects for Soviet hardware of all, because it ties figures, machine and small props into a single understandable action. Even a single round lying on a fender can give a scene scale and tension.
The difference between the metal case and the projectile in the upper part is worth bringing out. Leave the lower part in a warm metallic tone and set the projectile apart with a darker coat and, if you wish, a colored band of the kind ammunition carried to tell the types apart. Once the paints have dried, go over the transitions with a darker accent so that the shape stands out. Finally consider a light matte pass, because too glossy a surface would look out of place beside a dusty tank.
