The version of the D-10T2S gun for the modernized T-55AMD in 1:35 scale replaces the plastic weapon from the kit.

The replacement gun is cut for a model of the modernized T-55 in the AMD configuration, that is for a vehicle with added protection of the hull and the turret. The part comes in one piece, with an elaborate muzzle and with a fume extractor on its body, so gluing two halves together and the subsequent sanding of the cylindrical surface both fall away. It is intended for the kit from Rye Field Model.
Soviet tanks of the T-55 family went through extensive alterations in the 1980s, meant to prolong their service life against new anti-tank missiles. Besides add-on armor on the front of the hull and the turret, the modernized vehicles were given a new sighting system, and some of them an active protection system as well, which was to destroy an incoming missile before it hit. The main armament meanwhile remained the proven 100 mm gun, so the vehicle kept the silhouette that modelers know from the earlier versions.
Fit the part dry first and check how deep it seats into the mantlet. Fill any excess play with a drop of thicker glue and support the barrel until the joint sets. Then just dust the surface with primer, so that the paint holds on it the same way as on the surrounding plastic.
The package contains the weapon itself, not a kit of the vehicle.
