Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic figure set in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Master Box. The package holds four figures of the Japanese Imperial Marines rendered in poses from the fighting for the Tarawa atoll in November 1943. The set is part of a series devoted to the Pacific war and brings a less common subject into a collection.
The battle for the Tarawa atoll in November 1943 was among the hardest clashes of the Pacific war. The Japanese Imperial Marines, who built heavily fortified positions there, put up exceptionally tenacious resistance to the American landing. The figures show the period tropical uniform and gear of the Japanese defenders. The set offers a factual historical rendering of this demanding island battle.
Separate the figures from the sprue, clean up the mold parting lines and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting. Earthy and faded shades with fine dust and wear work well on tropical uniforms; build the faces up in layers. The scene comes out best on a diorama with sand, palms and elements of coastal fortification.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
