The set contains twelve turned brass barrels for the Japanese dual-purpose naval gun of 127 mm (12.7 cm) caliber and 40 calibers length, the Type 89. It is the variant for gun turrets without canvas blast bags. This dual-purpose gun made up the standard anti-aircraft and secondary armament of most larger Japanese warships of the Second World War.
The metal barrels replace the original plastic parts of the kit and bring a symmetrical profile and a sharp muzzle. The high count of pieces lets you fit the whole battery of these guns. Fitting consists of cutting off the plastic barrel and seating the brass replacement in its place.
The material holds its shape, resists bending and once painted looks realistic.
