The Friulmodel metal tracks in 1:35 scale are a replacement set of individual white metal links intended for Soviet light vehicles that share a common chassis – the T-70M, the SU-76 and SU-76M self-propelled guns, the ZSU-37 anti-aircraft vehicle, the T-80 light tank and the Ya-12 tractor. It is not a model but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic or rubber tracks from the kit. The links are joined with metal pins into a fully workable track.
The T-70 light tank and its chassis became the basis of a whole family of Soviet vehicles of the Second World War. The best known of them is the SU-76 light self-propelled gun, one of the most numerously produced Soviet armored vehicles. All these vehicles shared the same type of track, which the set replaces.
First clean the individual links of casting flash and fit them together. They are joined with metal pins from the enclosed wire, which you cut to length, and the result is a genuinely workable track that follows the road wheels and the natural sag between them. Metal holds paint and pigments splendidly, so we recommend painting and weathering the tracks before fitting them to the model. Thanks to the wide compatibility the set suits several projects at once.
This is a detail set of metal tracks, not a model of a vehicle. The paints, the glue and the kit are not included in the package.
