A small plastic kit of a towed single-axle trailer with a tank, in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of a vehicle in its own right — it is an accessory that is hitched behind a truck or an off-road vehicle of matching scale in a scene or a diorama. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The contents of the package, the number of parts and the volume and type of the tank are given by the instructions supplied with the kit.
Light towed trailers were among the most ordinary equipment of military convoys. The single-axle version with a drawbar and a support leg could be hitched behind practically any vehicle and was used to carry water, fuel and other material over short distances. That is exactly why they appear in period photographs at dressing stations, field kitchens and technical sections, and in a modeling scene they fill a similar role: they give a diorama its logic and fill the empty space behind the towing vehicle so that the scene reads convincingly. The manufacturer also offers a cargo trailer version in the same scale, so the two can be combined.
The trailer is a small assembly that can be built in an evening, and it therefore suits a side build between larger projects. Check that the axle and the drawbar sit in one plane — with small parts it easily happens that the finished trailer stands crooked. Before painting, consider whether you want to hitch it permanently or leave it loose; a loose trailer is easier to paint and easier to work with in a diorama. Match it in color to the towing vehicle, but treat the wear differently: trailers tended to be dustier and more scuffed than towing vehicles, because they were handled more roughly. Mud and dust pigments go on the lower part and rust around the joints and the tie-down fittings.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. This is not a model of the towing vehicle — that is not part of the package.
