This marking set in 1:35 scale from Star Decals is the fourth part of the line devoted to armor in Bosnia. It is aimed at the machines of the HVO units, that is the Croatian forces active in the Bosnian conflict of the first half of the 1990s. The name of the set makes clear which types the markings are prepared for: the M-84 tank, the older T-34, the hardware carried under the designation Praga, the M-60 armored personnel carrier, the 2S1 self-propelled howitzer, the BRDM-2 scout vehicle and the VW T3 off-road utility vehicle.
The armament in Bosnia came out of the depots of the former Yugoslav army, so machines from the end of the Second World War served side by side with hardware of the 1980s. The M-84 was a Yugoslav tank based on the design of the T-72, while the T-34 and older self-propelled equipment made up the oldest part of the vehicle park. Besides combat vehicles, civilian hardware was commonly used as well, represented here by the VW T3. For a modeler that means several generations of machines can stand in one cabinet with the markings of one side of the conflict.
Markings stand out on a smooth and evenly sprayed base, so give the areas under them a coat of gloss varnish first. Once it has dried, even the whole surface out with a matte or semi-matte varnish and only then work with dust, mud and traces of use. Check the exact application procedure and the recommended products against the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging.
It is a decal set, not a kit. The vehicle, the paints and the varnishes are not included in the package.
