This injection-molded plastic kit captures the iconic French Type H/HY van as it looked in the configuration of the middle and end of the 1960s. The set contains roughly 120 plastic parts, a photo-etched sheet for the fine detail, and front and sliding side doors that can be modeled open. The decal sheets offer several period commercial liveries of European firms, so the model works very well as a striking element of a diorama too.
The subject is the legendary Citroën Type H (H/HY) van, built from the postwar years for several decades in hundreds of thousands of examples. It is recognizable by its drawn-out nose, its low flat floor, its rear-hinged cab doors and above all its corrugated-steel body, which gave the vehicle its unmistakable look. The van became a symbol of postwar Europe — it delivered bread, served tradesmen and worked as a mobile stall.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic; the joints in the corrugated panels call for careful alignment. Lay down a primer before painting and then spray the body, best of all with an airbrush. The texture of the corrugated steel comes out beautifully after a light wash into the recesses. Open doors let you show the interior of the load compartment.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
