A sniper in present-day field dress is the subject of the single-figure set 1:35 Ukrainian Sniper (1pc) from the Ukrainian brand Spalah.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package holds one character, as the figure for the number of pieces in the name says. It portrays a soldier in the role of a sniper, that is a specialist whose work rests on camouflage, patience and accurate shooting at long range. Spalah prepares the figure by three-dimensional printing and resin casting, which gives a surface with readable texture of cloth and gear.
The character is conceived in present-day field dress matching today's infantry, so visually it goes together with models of present-day armored vehicles and cross-country cars of the same size. Compare the particular camouflage pattern against period photographs before painting: it differs between individual units, and it is precisely the pattern that decides whether a scene looks convincing.
After washing and removing the supports, lay down a thin primer, ideally in a gray shade, which will bring out the transitions. Camouflage patterns are done with a brush from the lighter areas toward the darker patches, and a face is built up in layers from a middle flesh tone to the accents. Pigments and a matte clear coat at the end will unify the surface and take the plastic sheen off the figure.
The character is supplied unassembled and without a finish; the paints, the glue and a base are not taken in, unless stated otherwise.
