The Beechcraft 1900 is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft for nineteen passengers, intended for short routes with low loads, where a large airliner makes no economic sense. The 1900D version has a taller fuselage with a cabin you can stand up in and a set of additional aerodynamic surfaces on the fuselage and the tail. The type was among the mainstays of American regional transport, where it connected small airports with the hubs of the large companies.
On a model in a particular livery the order of the work decides everything. First prepare the surface perfectly, because every scratch and unfilled gap will stand out under gloss paint. Then spray the base shades starting from the lightest and mask the transitions so that the edge is sharp and the paint does not run underneath. Only over a gloss clear coat should the livery decals be laid down; with large sheets work in sections and use a softener, so that the film settles into the engraved lines. Finally unify the surface with a semi-flat or gloss clear coat according to the appearance of the real subject. Mask the cockpit glazing and the windows before painting and glue the small aerials on at the very end.
