A resin figure in 1:35 scale from the figure range of the manufacturer CMK. It represents a soldier in present-day field equipment with a single-use NLAW anti-tank missile system and with an assault rifle of the AK-74 series. The figure is intended to complete a diorama or to bring a vehicle model to life; on its own it is not a kit of a piece of hardware.
A vehicle model built on its own has no way of telling the viewer its size. A figure beside the hull settles that at once: the eye works out immediately how tall the armor plates are or how far the view from a hatch reaches. At the same time 1:35 scale leaves enough room for the detail of the equipment, so a well-cast figure carries even the small things such as the straps, the pouches and the shape of the helmet. The anti-tank weapon on the shoulder is a compositional element as well: it gives the figure a clear line and the diorama around it is easier to build.
Resin figures are supplied divided into several parts. Separate the parts from the casting blocks with a fine saw, sand the parting lines down and, above all, check them against the light; on the smooth areas of a uniform even a small mark left by the mold shows through the paint. Wash the figure in warm water with detergent before painting, because of the mold release agent. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint over a filler primer; build the skin from a darker base toward lighter layers, and the uniform the other way, from a middle value, with the shadows brought out by a thin wash into the folds. A matte varnish at the end, except for the eyes and any glossy parts of the equipment.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
