An injection-molded plastic kit of the American wheeled armored vehicle M1131 Stryker FSV (Fire Support Vehicle) in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the 8x8 chassis and the angular hull fitted with observation and reconnaissance sensors; the FSV version serves artillery observers and forward observers for finding targets and directing fire.
The Stryker is a family of American 8x8 wheeled armored vehicles built in many specialized versions. The M1131 Fire Support Vehicle is intended for fire support: it carries forward observers who use sighting and reconnaissance instruments to find targets and pass the data to the artillery and to air support. The outward mark of the version is the sensor and communications equipment on the hull. The vehicle thus joins the protection and mobility of the Stryker with the role of the eyes of the artillery directly on the battlefield.
Paint the eight-wheeled chassis before the side plates cover it. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and sand the joints down; fit the fine sensors and antennas carefully. Apply a base coat (primer) before painting. Lay a modern single-color or desert finish on with an airbrush and lighten the upper surfaces gently. Final washes and dry pigments will draw out the dust and mud on the large wheels and in the wheel wells.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
