It is not a model of a vehicle and not a figure, but building material for a diorama: elements which create a street, a yard or a deserted nook around a finished model. It is precisely the surroundings that decide whether a scene looks convincing, because a model on its own without a context stays merely an object on a base.
Before you start gluing, lay the set out dry on the base and look for one main line of sight. Do not set the elements in a row or symmetrically, but into groups with free space between them, so that the eye has a way through the scene. Differences of height help: lower elements to the front, higher ones to the back as a backdrop. Roughen the contact surfaces, level the mating edges on glass with abrasive paper and glue them on only once the terrain compound has dried, as otherwise the set will tip over in the soft base.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, let them dry and clean up the casting remains. According to the material use super glue, or glue for polystyrene. Apply the base in a thin layer, so that the structure of the surface stays legible. Urban surfaces build on variability: one base tone, light patches of neighboring shades into it, and only then an overall unifying layer of thinned paint or a filter. A flowing wash will bring out the joints, the cracks and the corners; wipe the excess off from the top downwards. Do the chipping and the rubbing on the exposed edges, where the surface would really wear. Finally add dust and deposits of pigments from the bottom upwards, with decreasing intensity, and fix it all with matte varnish. Between the individual layers always let it dry through sufficiently, or the layer beneath will dissolve.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue, a base, terrain compounds and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
