A combined set in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Bravo 6. It holds two resin figures of door gunners and with them the M23 armament subsystem, that is the door mount with machine guns, complemented by photo-etched parts. Everything is supplied unpainted and unassembled; the set is intended for more experienced modelers.
The figures represent the door gunners of an American helicopter from the period of the war in Vietnam. From a modeling point of view it is interesting that each figure has different dress - one wears tropical field uniform, the other a flight suit of fire-resistant material; both have a flight helmet and a ballistic chest vest. The poses are not the same: one figure is set to work the machine gun, the other leans out of the cabin as if watching the space below the machine. The accessory M23 subsystem makes it possible to fit the doors of a model with the matching mount instead of simplified plastic parts.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting blocks off and sand the surfaces down wet with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate super glue; with photo-etched parts use a thin variant. Paint the figures and the armament separately and fit them into the model only once painted - a brush maneuvers badly in a narrow cabin. Apply a primer before painting. Build the uniform as well as the flight suit up from a base tone through shading to a lightening of the edges; a glossy helmet and matte cloth side by side will benefit the scene. Graphite pigment will bring the metal parts of the machine gun to life.
The figures as well as the accessory are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
