Injection-molded plastic figure set U.S. Infantry (West European Theater) in 1:35 scale from Tamiya: American infantrymen from the Western European battlefield of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic set of American infantry figures in 1:35 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Tamiya. The figures depict infantrymen from the Western European battlefield of the Second World War in period uniforms and in action poses. The set is meant to fill out dioramas or to be displayed on its own and is compatible with other Tamiya kits in 1:35 scale.
American infantrymen fought across Western Europe after the Normandy landings in 1944. They were armed above all with the M1 Garand self-loading rifle, the M1 carbine, the Thompson submachine gun and the BAR M1918 automatic rifle. Standard equipment consisted of the M1 helmet, a field jacket and a belt rig with ammunition pouches, a canteen and an entrenching tool.
Cut the small parts carefully from the sprues, fit them with thin cement for plastic and clean up the parting lines. Apply a primer before painting. Faces and hands do most to make a figure convincing, so shade and highlight the skin and bring out the uniform (olive drab shades) with dry-brushing and a fine wash. Paint the equipment and weapons last.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
