It is not a model of the vehicle but an accessory for it: it adds to the armored vehicle the kit and cargo that are an inseparable part of real service but are missing from the basic shape of the model.
The Stryker is an American wheeled armored vehicle with drive on all eight wheels, based on the Canadian LAV III. The US Army built a whole family of specialized machines on it, from an infantry carrier through reconnaissance, engineer and ambulance versions to command and signals vehicles. The signals variants serve as mobile nodes of the army's tactical data network, and you can recognize them by their marked communications equipment, antennas and boxes on the hull. It is exactly that irregular silhouette that makes the vehicle a rewarding modeling subject.
The accessories and the cargo break up the uniform area of the base coat and give the model both scale and credibility. They come off best when you paint them separately in more varied muted shades of textile, wood and plastic, and only at the end tie everything together with a shared veil of dust. A light wash will bring out the folds and the edges, but use it sparingly so that the accessories do not look dirtier than the vehicle itself.
