1:35 Vietnam Gun Trucks - the US M54 with an M113 body, the vehicle nicknamed THE COLONEL in the blue form is a Star Decals set for an American escort truck.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds markings for the American five-ton truck M54 with armored superstructure made from the tub of an M113 carrier, specifically for the vehicle nicknamed THE COLONEL in the blue form. The color is given in the name itself, because the same vehicle also appeared in another color form. When choosing, go by exactly that detail. This is a marking sheet; a kit is not included.
Named vehicles belonged to gun trucks as naturally as the machine guns on the bed. The crews gave their machines names, painted them on the side plates in bold lettering and added signs and scenes that often had nothing to do with regulations. The vehicles also changed during their service: armor was added, the armament changed, after damage the plates were replaced and the lettering was painted again, sometimes in a different color. That is why the same name appears in more than one form and a modeler has to choose which phase of the vehicle's life to build.
Blue lettering on a dark olive base has less contrast than light lettering, so try the position and the legibility dry first and lay them out on an area that will stay clearly visible. Apply the markings onto an evened-out gloss base and, once dry, mask the excess around the design with a light overspray of the base shade. Lay the dust and mud on the fenders and the underside of the bed only at the very end, otherwise the lettering will be lost in them.
