A figure set from Dynamo-Models in 1:35 scale out of the range the name marks with the abbreviation WSS. The StuG Commander figure captures the commander of a German assault gun of the Second World War. It is a diorama accessory to a vehicle model, not a vehicle kit. The name expands neither the WSS abbreviation nor the particular version of the vehicle, so nothing is added here.
StuG is the shortened designation of the German Sturmgeschütz assault gun, that is a tracked vehicle with the gun in the hull and no rotating turret, built on a tank chassis. The commander of such a vehicle observed his surroundings from the open hatch, where he is clearly visible on a finished model - and that is exactly why a commander figure is so sought after on this type of vehicle. Without a figure in the hatch the finished model looks empty; with it the scene gains a scale and a story at once. In the same range the manufacturer also carries further crew figures, so they can be combined.
If you paint the figure yourself, make sure it fits the hatch of your particular model - the dimensions differ between kits and a dry trial before painting saves a great deal of work. Build the uniform in thin layers from a base tone through the shadow in the folds to a mild lightening of the edges, and prefer muted, worn shades. Leave the face for the end, when the rest is already finished. Finally tie the figure in with the vehicle using a fine layer of dust, so that it does not read as a separate object perched on a finished model.
