A single figure of an armored vehicle commander, 1:35 is offered by Dynamo-Models under the serial number three and with the setting Normandy 1944. It completes a series made up of the other members of the same crew, which are sold separately or in numbered packages.
A commander figure tends to be sculpted so as to fill the hatch opening in the turret and lean out of it. It is exactly this element that turns a finished tank into a living scene: the viewer grasps the size of the machine from the person in it. When you turn the turret, the whole scene changes direction, so it pays to move the figure several times before you glue it permanently.
Lay down a base, paint the clothing flat and only then work with volume. The headphones, the goggles on the cap peak and the collar are small things that carry a great part of the final impression, so save a fresh hand and your finest brush for them. Polish the metal parts with fine graphite or with a dry brush of silver paint. Watch the measure: too much shine turns a small accessory into the most conspicuous element of the whole figure.
