This is a printed paper sheet, not a resin casting. According to the name it holds 24 scaled-down posters whose motifs are based on American period propaganda posters of the Second World War. The sheet serves to finish a diorama in 1:35 scale; the posters are cut out of it and stuck onto the vertical surfaces of the scene. Everything that usually goes with resin therefore falls away: no casting blocks, no sanding and no filling.
A scene with American equipment or with figures in American kit gains its period setting precisely through the small details in the background. A poster on a factory wall, on a fence by an airfield or on a board in a rear area fills an empty surface and tells the viewer at once where the scene takes place. A stock of twenty-four usually lasts for several dioramas.
For cutting them out use a scalpel with a new blade, a metal ruler and a cutting mat. They are stuck down with thinned PVA glue in a thin layer, and once pressed on, push the air out through a piece of paper towel. On a textured surface moisten the paper lightly first; it will soften and adapt to the ground. Small damage helps credibility: a torn edge, a lifted corner or a light wash that ties the color of the print in with the rest of the scene. A matte coat at the end levels the sheen of the paper with its surroundings and protects the print as well.
