1:35 Panzerjäger I with the 47 mm gun — photo-etched set for the upper hull is an accessory for a plastic kit you already own, not a standalone model. The metal parts sharpen up the upper hull and its details, and the set is cut for the Dragon 6230 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This detail set from Voyager Model is meant for a plastic model of the German Panzerjäger I tank destroyer. It concentrates on the upper part of the hull, that is on the area with the hatches, the vents and the small fittings. It is not a kit of the vehicle but an accessory for the Dragon 6230 kit.
The Panzerjäger I was the first German production tank destroyer. It came about by seating an anti-tank gun of 47 mm caliber of Czechoslovak origin on the chassis of the Pz.Kpfw.I Ausf.B light tank, with the turret replaced by a shield open at the top. Some two hundred vehicles were built and they were deployed from 1940 on several fronts. The design is clearly apparent precisely from above, which makes the upper hull the area everyone looks at on the finished model.
The photo-etched parts of the upper hull are glued onto a surface that already carries some detail on the kit. So first establish what the photo-etched parts replace, cut it away carefully and sand the surface flush; any remains of the old detail would keep the new part from seating. It pays to fill the transition between metal and plastic with a very thin filler applied with a brush, so that no visible edge is left. Never sand the riveted rims down, otherwise you lose the most valuable thing photo-etched parts offer. Once finished, degrease the whole model and lay on a thin primer, which equalizes adhesion on both metal and plastic.
This is an add-on set for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
