It is a detail set of photo-etched metal, not a kit. The etched parts replace plastic parts that in reality have the thickness of sheet metal — fenders, grilles over the engine compartment, tool brackets and similar features. The result is a model with a substantially more realistic profile at the edges. Because the brand offers similar basic sets for the Panther Ausf.G of early production in several variants differing only in the target kit, we state it specifically: this set is cut for the Takom 2119 and 2134 kits. It cannot be used on another tooling without adjustments.
The Panther Ausf.G was the last version of the German Panther medium tank to be built in series, brought in from the spring of 1944. Against older versions it had a reworked hull side without the step at the driver's visor, a different arrangement of hatches and further production simplifications. The vehicle was armed with a long-barreled gun of 75 mm caliber and powered by a gasoline engine placed at the rear; the grilles over the engine compartment are among the features that gain the most on a model from being done in photo-etched metal.
Cut the etched parts out on a hard surface with a sharp knife or snip them off with small cutters; never break them out. Make the folds in a bender or between two blades, always along the whole length at once. Degrease the parts and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue; larger areas can also be held with two-part epoxy, which gives time to line things up. Before painting, apply a thin primer intended for metal. On the running gear and the grilles, work before you close the hull, and apply weathering from washes and pigments only to the finished assembly.
It is an accessory to a kit, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
