This set from Voyager Model is the basic variant of a detail set for a plastic model of the German Pz.Kpfw.I Ausf. B light tank in its North African configuration. The basic designation means that this is a leaner scope aimed at the main visible areas rather than a complete rebuild of the model. The kit is not part of the package. The set is intended for the Dragon 6207 kit.
The Pz.Kpfw.I Ausf. B was a German light tank with a lengthened hull and five road wheels on each side, armed only with machine guns in the turret. It was in service from the second half of the 1930s and appeared in North Africa in the early 1940s, where it was already obsolete in combat and was used mainly for auxiliary and reconnaissance tasks. Vehicles deployed in Africa carried modifications against dust and heat and the characteristic baggage and tools on the hull.
With a basic set it pays to plan the sequence before you reach for the glue. First remove from the plastic the molded details the photo-etched parts replace and level the surface, because once the metal is glued on you will no longer reach it. Then fit the parts working outward from the hull, that is first what is underneath and at the rear, and only at the end the small items on the upper surfaces, which you would otherwise catch. Leave the parts on the fret as long as possible and separate them only at the moment of fitting, otherwise they will be lost. Work over a light-colored surface and with tweezers with smoothed jaws, so that a small part does not spring away.
This is an add-on set for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
