This brass photo-etched set from Voyager Model replaces the plastic fenders of a model of the Soviet KV-85 and KV-122 heavy tanks in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of the tank but a refining accessory; the thin metal sheet makes it possible to represent bent and damaged fenders faithfully, which a plastic mold can manage only to a limited degree.
The KV was a Soviet series of heavy tanks of the Second World War period. The KV-85 and KV-122 variants came from fitting a heavier gun of 85 mm and 122 mm caliber respectively into a strengthened turret. The fenders over the tracks were among the items that often took damage in the field, which is why modelers like to render them realistically.
Separate the fenders from the fret and shape a gentle bend or waviness for the look of wear. Use super glue for bonding. Degrease the metal parts before painting and treat them with a primer. According to the manufacturer the accessory is cut for the Trumpeter 01570 and 01569 kits.
This is an accessory for a plastic model, not a stand-alone kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
