A basic photo-etched set for a model of the US Army engineer excavator in 1:35 scale, intended for the Panda Hobby PH35041 kit. Thin metal parts will replace the thicker plastic shapes.
Responsibility details are not available.
The High Mobility Engineer Excavator is an engineer machine of the American army. It combines an excavator and a loading bucket with a wheeled chassis, so it can move to the place of work under its own power and needs no lowboy semi-trailer for that. On a model it is a machine full of transitions between the cab, the arms and the superstructure, where every thin part shows.
Photo-etched parts are thin sheet metal on which the parts are etched to shape. They replace places that have to be thick-walled on a kit for production reasons, and are able to give them back the correct thickness. This set is marked as basic and is intended for the Panda Hobby PH35041 kit, so the parts match its shapes.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by twisting; the etched tab is then sanded down. Lead the bends over a straight edge or in a bending tool and press along the whole length of the bend at once, so that the part is not left wavy. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, which you apply in a small amount on the tip of a toothpick. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and use a primer, otherwise the paint holds badly on the smooth surface.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
