An application set for imitating Zimmerit on the StuG.III Ausf. G in 1:35 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. This is an accessory for a plastic model, not the model itself.
Responsibility details are not available.
An Eduard application set for the faithful imitation of Zimmerit on the German StuG.III Ausf. G assault gun in 1:35 scale. This is not a model of the vehicle but an accessory, which carries the characteristic structure of the anti-magnetic coating over onto a plastic model. The set holds preformed parts copying the shape of the hull and the superstructure, so the laborious engraving of the pattern by hand falls away.
Zimmerit was a paste applied to German vehicles in the years 1943 to 1944, whose task was to keep magnetic anti-tank mines from sticking to them. On the surface it created a typical ribbed or waffle pattern. The StuG.III Ausf. G ranked among the most widespread German assault guns of the Second World War and carried a gun of 75 mm caliber in a low armored casemate on the chassis of the Panzer III tank.
Separate the parts from the fret carefully, lay them on the degreased surface of the model and stick them on with super glue. Once it has dried, the whole can be sprayed with a base coat and weathered with washes and pigments just like the surrounding surfaces, so that the imitation fits into the overall look of the vehicle.
The accessory is supplied on its own, without the model of the vehicle, paints and glue.
