1:350 Akagi is a photo-etched detail set from Eduard for the plastic kit of the Japanese aircraft carrier Akagi in 1:350 scale. It is an accessory, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set is a detailing accessory, not a standalone model. It holds accurately etched brass parts for improving the plastic kit of the aircraft carrier Akagi in 1:350 scale. It typically brings fine railings, the nets around the edge of the flight deck, details of the island superstructure, the elevators, the boats and the antiaircraft armament, which plastic cannot render faithfully.
Akagi was a Japanese aircraft carrier, converted from a hull originally intended for a battlecruiser. During the Second World War she served as the flagship of the carrier strike force and took part in a number of operations in the Pacific. She was sunk in 1942 at the Battle of Midway. She was marked by an extensive flight deck and an island superstructure on the port side.
Separate the parts carefully from the fret and bend them on a firm surface, ideally with a photo-etch bending tool. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with epoxy. Paint the railings and the nets only once they are glued in place, best of all with an airbrush in the shade of the deck and the superstructures.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
