Very Fire 1:350 Flakvierling C38 quadruple 20 mm guns is a set of resin anti-aircraft weapons that replaces the coarsely cast guns from the kit on a model of a ship.

The Very Fire set contains four sets of quadruple anti-aircraft guns of 20 mm caliber in the naval C38 form, as they were used on the surface ships of the Kriegsmarine. It is not a model of a ship but an exchange detail: in 1:350 scale the guns from the kit tend to be simplified into a compact lump of plastic, because an injection mold will not render a thin barrel or an openwork gun shield. Resin castings go two classes further in this.
The anti-aircraft armament is visible from close up on a model of a ship and decides most about the impression of the finished work. Sharply cast barrels, a legible breech, fine mounts and protective shields break up the monotony of the deck and give the superstructures depth. Four sets in the package will as a rule suffice to occupy several gun positions on one model, so the exchange does not have to be done only in the most exposed place but consistently over the whole ship.
The castings are small and fragile, so work exclusively with tweezers and over a mat. Release them from the casting block with a sharp blade, and with a thin stem rather undercut it several times from different sides than break it. Washing in warm water with a detergent follows, so that the release agent from the mold disappears. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a minimal quantity, best with the tip of a wire. Paint with an airbrush while they are still on the sprue or on tape, as a brush reaches areas this small only with difficulty. At the end a very thinned dark wash helps, letting the grooves of the mount stand out.
This is an accessory set, not a model of a ship. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
