A set of turned gun barrels for a model of the French Danton-class battleship in 1:350 scale, in 305 mm, 240 mm and 75 mm calibers.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Danton class was the last line of French battleships built to the older armament layout, that is with two calibers of heavy guns instead of a uniform main battery. Alongside four 305 mm guns these ships carried an unusually strong 240 mm secondary battery and, on top of that, small barrels for close-range defense. A model in 1:350 scale is therefore full of gun barrels, and it is on them that the accuracy of the build shows most.
The set brings turned metal gun barrels as a replacement for the kit parts: four 305 mm barrels, twelve 240 mm barrels and, in addition, 75 mm barrels. A turned part is perfectly straight compared with an injection-molded one, it has a symmetrical muzzle and it carries no trace of a seam between two halves.
Cut the plastic barrel off at its root and carefully pre-drill the hole for the new barrel with a bit of the matching diameter. Fit the barrel dry and check that all of them point the same way and have the same elevation. Glue with a minute amount of cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before painting, otherwise the coat will not hold on the smooth surface.
The barrel set alone is supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
