The package holds the anti-aircraft and dual-purpose armament: barrels of 114 mm caliber (4.5 inch) in a count of 16 pieces, 40 mm pom-pom (48 pieces) and barrels of Vickers 12.7 mm machine guns (32 pieces). This is not a ship kit - it is a detail accessory that replaces the less faithful plastic barrels from the original kit and raises the realism of the model considerably.
HMS Ark Royal was a British aircraft carrier of the 1930s, one of the best known units of the Royal Navy in the early years of the Second World War. Her aircraft took part, among other actions, in the hunt for the battleship Bismarck. For her own defense she carried dual-purpose guns of 114 mm caliber, multi-barrel 40 mm pom-pom anti-aircraft guns and Vickers machine guns of 12.7 mm caliber.
Separate the metal barrels carefully and clean any resin or photo-etched parts of casting block remnants. Use cyanoacrylate glue to bond the metal parts to plastic. Before fitting we recommend degreasing the surface and evening the barrels out with a primer coat. The fine turned parts let the final wash and dry brush work show.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. The base ship kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
