A wooden (veneer) deck from the Artwox brand in 1:350 scale, intended for the kit of the British battleship HMS Dreadnought from Zvezda, part number 9039. It is not a ship model but a self-adhesive overlay of fine wood veneer with laser-cut planks, which replaces the flat plastic deck and gives it a realistic wood texture.
HMS Dreadnought was a British battleship launched in 1906. With her concept of a uniform heavy armament and turbine propulsion she brought about a revolution in warship design; after her, the whole category of ships laid out this way is called a dreadnought. Wooden decks belong to her period look.
Clean and degrease the plastic deck, lay the veneer on carefully and line up the openings for the turrets, the superstructure and the deck fittings. The wood can be fine-tuned with a thin glaze and the seams between the planks emphasized; the surface is then fixed with a matte varnish.
The accessory is supplied as a deck overlay. The ship model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
