An injection-molded plastic kit of the British battleship HMS Warspite from Academy in 1:350 scale. The kit contains the parts for building this famous ship, fine railings, decals and a stand. It is a separate tooling by Academy with its own shapes and box contents, and therefore different from the kit of the same name by another maker. A model of an important and battle-famous Royal Navy battleship.
HMS Warspite was a battleship of the Queen Elizabeth class with a main battery of 381 mm (15 inch) guns. Over an exceptionally long career she took part in the fighting of both world wars and earned a string of battle honors, which won her the nickname Grand Old Lady. She went through an interwar reconstruction that gave her more modern superstructures and strengthened anti-aircraft armament. She is among the most famous and best-loved ships of the Royal Navy.
Glue the hull and the superstructures with liquid cement for plastic and sand the joints carefully. The busy superstructures, the cranes and the masts are brought to life considerably by aftermarket photo-etched railings and ladders, which are not part of the basic package. Paint with an airbrush in period British naval camouflage; tone down the wooden deck and accent the planks subtly. Discreet patina and accented panels will give the large deck depth. Apply the decals over a gloss coat and seal them with a matte one.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
