A detail set of precisely turned metal gun barrels for a model of the Japanese battleship Nagato (IJN Nagato) in 1:350 scale from the Polish brand Master. The package contains eight barrels of 40 cm caliber for the main gun turrets and eighteen barrels of 14 cm caliber for the secondary casemate armament. They replace the plastic barrels from a boxed kit and give the model a sharper look to its weapons.
The Nagato was the flagship of the Imperial Japanese Navy and one of the first battleships in the world armed with guns of 40 cm (16 inch) caliber. She entered service after the First World War and in the interwar period was among the most powerful vessels of her class. The characteristic main caliber guns were supplemented by a battery of secondary guns of 14 cm caliber. The ship survived the Second World War and was lost only in the postwar nuclear tests.
Cut off the original plastic barrels and carefully drill the holes for the new parts. Glue the turned metal barrels with cyanoacrylate. Before painting, apply a base coat (a primer) to the metal to ensure the paint adheres; then spray thin coats with an airbrush. The set goes very well with etched railings when building the hull.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete ship model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
