A detail set for models of the American littoral combat ships (LCS) of the Independence class, specifically LCS-2 and LCS-4. The set contains aerials, masts and a turned metal barrel for the Mk110 (Bofors) naval gun of 57 mm caliber and 70 calibers length. It combines turned metal, photo-etched and, where applicable, resin parts.
The metal and photo-etched features are sharp and dimensionally accurate, markedly truer than plastic parts. The set is intended for more experienced modelers who want to raise the detail of the superstructure and the armament of a model.
Fitting the barrel is simple: you cut off the original plastic barrel, drill a hole in what remains of the part and glue the metal barrel in.
