A plastic kit of French Loire observation floatplanes in 1:350 scale from Trumpeter. The box holds several small aircraft intended above all to complete models of warships, on whose decks catapult-launched observation machines used to be carried. A sheet of decals is usually included; take the exact number of parts and schemes from the instructions in the box.
The French Loire observation floatplanes served in the 1930s and during the Second World War for reconnaissance and for spotting naval gunfire from surface ships. Once catapulted and their task done, the machines landed on the water and a crane hoisted them back aboard. Thanks to their floats they needed no aircraft carrier and extended the eyes of the big ships.
The parts in this scale are very small, so work with a sharp knife, fine cement for plastic and tweezers. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush is ideal for thin coats. The tiny decals settle more easily with a decal softener.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
