The photo-etched detail set Prince of Wales - lifeboats in 1:350 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not a model but a set of fine brass parts for faithful lifeboats on the British battleship HMS Prince of Wales. The set is designed for the kit from Tamiya in the same scale.
HMS Prince of Wales was a British battleship of the King George V class, sunk by Japanese aircraft in December 1941. Lifeboats are among the details that look flat in coarse plastic. The photo-etched parts give the boats a fine internal structure, with thwarts, ribbing and davits, and markedly lift the realism of the deck.
Separate the parts carefully from the fret with a sharp knife or photo-etch scissors, make the bends according to the instructions (ideally on a photo-etch bending tool) and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate): cement for plastic does not hold on metal. With long railings, patience and gluing in shorter sections pay off. Assemble the boat hulls and their fine internal fittings patiently according to the instructions. We recommend spraying unpainted parts with primer and the color of the ship before fitting.
The photo-etched set is an accessory, not a model. The ship kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
