A wooden deck for a model of the American aircraft carrier Franklin with the hull number CV-13 in 1:350 scale, prepared for the Trumpeter 05604 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Franklin, with the hull number CV-13, was an American aircraft carrier of the Essex class deployed in the Pacific during the Second World War. Ships of this class formed the core of the American forces, and their extensive wooden flight deck is the dominant feature of the whole model. It is therefore the surface of the deck that decides how the finished ship looks at first glance.
A wooden deck for a model in 1:350 scale, prepared for the Trumpeter kit with the manufacturer's part number 05604. Wood gives the deck a natural pattern and a fine shade that painting plastic achieves only with difficulty, and at the same time it covers the joints and traces of assembling the deck parts of the kit.
Lay the deck on dry first and check how it fits the deck of the kit; small deviations can be put right before it is fixed down, but not afterwards. The base has to be flat, clean and degreased, or the edges will lift in time. The way to fix it is given in the manufacturer's instructions. Work from one end and press the area down gradually, so that no air is left underneath. Choose any treatment of the surface after gluing carefully and test it on an offcut first.
The ship kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
