A masking sheet for a model of the American aircraft carrier USS Hornet CV-8 in 1:350 scale, meant for the Trumpeter 05601 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
USS Hornet, with the hull designation CV-8, was an American aircraft carrier from the early part of the Second World War. In April 1942 the bombers of the raid on Tokyo took off from her deck, and the ship also took part in the Battle of Midway. She was sunk in the fall of the same year in the fighting at Santa Cruz, after less than a year and a half of service.
A masking sheet for the Trumpeter kit with the manufacturer's part number 05601 in 1:350 scale. The pieces are stuck on the model before spraying and taken off once the paint has dried; the boundaries between the colors are then sharp and even, which shows most on the large flat areas of a ship model. Which areas the sheet covers and in what order the colors go on is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The set suits the modeler who is building a large ship model and wants the markings and the color transitions clean, without blocking them out with hand-cut tape or painting them in with a brush.
The ship kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
