A detailed set of American anti-aircraft Bofors quadruple mounts of 40 mm/56 caliber with the Mk-51 fire control system in 1:350 scale from the Polish brand MASTER. The package holds 6 complete mounts built up from resin, photo-etched and precisely turned metal parts. This is the ver.2 version. It is not a ship kit but a highly faithful detail accessory that replaces the simplified plastic anti-aircraft position from the original kit.
The Bofors of 40 mm caliber was the most widespread light anti-aircraft gun of the US Navy in the Second World War. Quadruple mounts formed the backbone of the close-in air defense of US Navy battleships, cruisers and aircraft carriers, above all against Japanese air raids in the Pacific. The Mk-51 director raised the accuracy of the fire against fast moving targets.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent residue and separate them carefully from the casting blocks. Glue the metal barrels and photo-etched elements with cyanoacrylate glue. Building up the fine mounts calls for care and a sharp tool; degrease the whole assembly before painting and apply a good primer.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. The base ship kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
