USS Arleigh Burke DDG-51 is the lead ship of the class of the same name of American destroyers with the Aegis combat system, commissioned in 1991. She carries vertical launching systems for guided missiles, a powerful radar and a universal armament for air, anti-ship and anti-submarine warfare. The Arleigh Burke class became the backbone of the surface forces of the US Navy.
Set the hull straight on the base supplied and clean up the superstructure and the masts before gluing. Glue with a thin cement for plastic; fit the fine photo-etched railings and the radars with cyanoacrylate glue at the end. For a convincing look, a modern naval gray with bold deck markings, discreet washes into the seams and only a restrained patina without exaggerated grime all work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
