Eduard 1:350 USS Constellation CV-64, part 1 with the lifeboats is a photo-etched set for a kit of the aircraft carrier. It deals with one particular area of the model, namely the boats and the way they hang on the sides of the hull.

A photo-etched detail set in 1:350 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a plastic kit of the aircraft carrier USS Constellation. It is not a kit but an accessory for a model that has to be obtained separately. The set for this ship is divided into several separately sold parts, and this one is designated as part one, devoted to the lifeboats. Anyone who wants to fit out the whole model combines several parts; anyone who only wants to refine a particular place buys precisely the one that deals with their area. Dividing by parts is the quickest way to tell what each little box serves on the model.
The USS Constellation was an American aircraft carrier with an angled landing deck, four steam catapults and conventional, that is non-nuclear, propulsion. It served for decades and went through several modernizations, which changed the look of the superstructure, the radar equipment and the deck machinery. At a size of 1:350 the model comes out over half a meter long, so the small equipment on the sides of the hull, including the boats and their davits, is clearly visible on it.
Separate the tiny photo-etched parts with a scalpel on a hard surface and put them straight into a dish, so that they do not get lost. Make the bends in a bending tool, and with the small davits tweezers with flat jaws will help. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin, as an excess of glue will make a shiny mark on the brass that is hard to remove. Degrease the brass and spray a primer on, otherwise the paint comes off during handling. Proceed by sections: finish and paint one area of the hull and only then move on to the next, otherwise you will break the finished parts with your hand during the rest of the work.
It is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
